    Description

    DescriptionThe Senior Staff Accountant serves as a team leader within the accounting and finance department, performing professional accounting work related to the development of accounting policies, maintenance, and auditing of financial statements, records, and reports. Under minimal supervision, the Senior Staff Accountant provides high‑level customer service and support to other accountants, the Home Office, and Momentum Senior Living's communities. This role supports the organization's mission by upholding its Service Promise and Standards while performing related duties as assigned.RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. They may evolve to align with organizational needs.Compile, analyze, and reconcile financial transactions, statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.Collaborate with the CEO to develop fiscal strategies for the organization.Review financial records for accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenditures, and income.Suggest policy improvements, training initiatives, and forms related to accounting for the organization; maintain a department policy and procedure manual.Audit expenditures in line with validation procedures.Assist with and ensure timely completion of insurance and other audits.Perform cost accounting and prepare associated reports.Maintain accurate trial balances, income statements, and balance sheets.Process and journalize accounting transactions for assigned communities and corporate entities.Provide accounting support and training to Business Office Managers regarding financial records.Reconcile subsidiary and control accounts.Enter and verify all accounting and financial transactions for assigned communities and corporate entities.Ensure data reconciliation between various ERP accounting systems.Perform variance analysis, researching and resolving any discrepancies or over‑budget items.Lead Yardi training for Staff Accountants, Executive Directors, and Business Office Managers.Oversee corporate credit card statements, prepare monthly BANK Expense Report templates, and ensuring timely entry into the general ledger.Perform manual and final paycheck calculations as needed, in the absence of the Payroll Manager.Deliver exceptional service to Momentum Senior Living team members with accurate, up‑to‑date information in a courteous, efficient manner.Consistently meet Momentum Senior Living's Service StandardsPerform other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or associate degree with 3-5 years of property management accounting experience.CPA license or progress towards certification preferred.Minimum 3 years of professional financial accounting experience.Experience with Yardi or similar ERP accounting system.Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.#J-18808-Ljbffr
