    What You'll Do:The Senior Staff Accountant position is responsible for performing account reconciliations, financial reporting, and operational accounting support related to mortgage banking activities.This is a Hybrid role at our Newport Beach, CA office.Your Key Responsibilities Include:Ensure that transactions comply with GAAP and company policies and proceduresRecord and reconcile daily mortgage loan sale transactionsReconcile warehouse loan balances, loans held for sale, investor receivables, and loan sale clearing accountsPrepare journal entries related to loan sales, gain on sale, investor settlements and related accounting activitiesResearch and resolve loan sale discrepancies with investors, operations, secondary marking, and servicingProcess MERS transfers, registrations, deactivations, and updates in accordance with investor and MERS requirementsPrepare and post daily journal entries, month-end entries, and accrualsReconcile and prepare statistical dataPrepare general ledger reconciliationsCollaborate with the Controller on special projects and reports related to company financials and reportingPerform other duties as needed or assignedWhat You Have:Highly proficient with Excel, including V and X lookups and pivot tables, and skilled in other Microsoft Office programsFamiliarity with data analysis softwareKnowledge of GAAP requirements and guidelines, as well as SOXProven ability to work independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees throughout the organizationProven experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reportingCapacity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strict reporting deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and well organizedDependable and highly motivated with a strong work ethicReliable and dependableAble to work extended hours during peak times (month-end, quarter-end, year-end)Flexible and able to meet changing needs within the organizationYour Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience4+ years of accounting experience; financial services industry experience preferredAbout Inspire Home Loans:As an affiliate of Century Communities, we strive to make homeownership a reality.
