Senior Staff Accountant

Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join their client's dynamic team in California. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and finance, looking to contribute to a high-performing team. The Senior Staff Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will be instrumental in supporting the company's financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Assist with preparation and organization of tax filings in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Provide financial data and analysis for budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Evaluate accounting procedures and recommend process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Certifications required: CPA or MBA preferred.

Work Hours

Monday to Friday, 1st shift

Benefits

Competitive salary ranging from $38 to $40 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
