Reports to: Controller/CFOFLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting the company's accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards, and supporting continuous process improvement initiatives. The Senior Staff Accountant works closely with operations, management, and other departments to support business objectives and ensure financial accuracy. This is a full-time, onsite position requiring attendance in the office five (5) days per week to facilitate collaboration, support operational needs, and provide timely financial support to the organization. Essential Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accurate recording of financial transactionsPrepare and post journal entries and supporting documentationAssist with month-end and year-end closing processesPrepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of issuesAssist with cash flow reportingSupport financial reporting and analysis by preparing schedules, reports, and supporting documentation as neededMaintain accounting records within the company's ERP/accounting system (Visual and OneStream)Assist with external audits and other compliance-related activitiesIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficienciesProvide cross-functional support and serve as a backup for other accounting functions as neededTrain and assist team members on accounting procedures, systems, and best practices Other Important Responsibilities Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to record, maintain, and analyze financial informationReview financial transactions, supporting documentation, and account coding for accuracy and completenessClassify, record, and summarize financial data in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Prepare, reconcile, and maintain accounting spreadsheets, databases, and schedulesResearch and resolve accounting discrepancies, and reporting issuesAssist in preparing financial, statistical, accounting, and operational reportsSupport internal control initiatives and documentation requirementsParticipate in process improvement and special projects as assignedContribute to the organization's Environmental Management System (EMS) by adhering to established environmental, recycling, waste management, and sustainability practicesPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCPA designation or CPA candidate preferred3+ years of progressive accounting experience requiredManufacturing accounting experience preferredExperience with ERP systemsExperience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting requiredStrong understanding of GAAP and accounting principlesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysisProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software applicationsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracyStrong organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departmentsDemonstrated initiative, sound judgement, and professional integrityCustomer oriented mindsetTeam player with a positive and adaptable approach Physical Requirements and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
