SUMMARY
The Data & Analytics Unit is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting healthcare data to support decision-making across the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). The unit manages patient care and operational data, using analytics to identify patterns, predict outcomes, and improve service delivery. The unit also ensures data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.
The Senior Staff Analyst role supports the Quality Incentive Pool (QIP) program, an initiative consisting of more than 70 quality measures designed to improve care delivery, performance, and reporting across the organization. The position focuses on coordinating requirements gathering for these measures, maintaining organized project plans, and helping ensure work progresses smoothly. It is wellâsuited for individuals who appreciate structured project coordination, crossâteam collaboration, and contributing to meaningful data and analytics efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should bring experience in project or program management, business analysis, and agile methodologies, particularly within dataâfocused environments. Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams while maintaining attention to detail are essential.
Strong writing and communication skills are important for preparing structured materials and partnering with stakeholders to clarify requirements and discuss dataârelated topics. Experience with Smartsheet, Jira, or similar tools is beneficial for tracking deliverables and maintaining project visibility. Leadership, problemâsolving, and stakeholder management skills are valuable for supporting teamwork, decisionâmaking, and alignment with organizational priorities.
