Senior Staff Embedded Software Engineer (BSW) | Mountain View, CA (Hybrid)

Drive the future of automotive mobility by designing high-performance computing platforms for a global automotive leader. This senior technical role focuses on developing reliable base software (BSW) and leading critical system bring-up for next-generation vehicles.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Development: Design and implement BSW components, including BSP, MCAL, bootloaders, and OS services.
  • System Integration: Lead board bring-up, HAL integration, and low-level driver development while resolving complex hardware-software interactions.
  • Quality & Strategy: Drive improvements in diagnostics, automated testing (CI/CD), and software quality through static/dynamic analysis.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor engineering teams, lead tech stack selection, and guide strategic launch plans.
  • Collaboration: Partner with hardware teams on component selection and interface with third-party vendors for stack tuning.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years in BSW development with a track record of bringing systems to mass production.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert in C, C++, Java, and HTML5, with deep knowledge of RTOS and embedded architectures.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong grasp of ISO 26262 functional safety, vehicle EE architectures, and HPC software.
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
