This position will remain open for application based on business need, which may be before or after the 3-day posting window.Job DescriptionPosition OverviewThe Sr Staff Engineer in Renewable Engineering will perform engineering activities to support project development and assist with the technical design and evaluation of utility-scale solar projects in Invenergy's target markets.Duties and ResponsibilitiesScreen prospective solar projects to identify potential risks and valueDefine project constraints and buildable area considering existing infrastructure, topography, hydrology, and subsurface ground conditionsPrepare conceptual project layouts. Optimize layouts to maximize project value.Analyze available meteorological datasets and apply long-term correlation to assess project resource characteristicsEstimate project annual energy production, energy uncertainty, energy probability values, and time-based production profilesConduct site visits to assess site suitability, participate in landowner meetings and community outreach events, and participate in monthly construction meetings.Assist with federal, state, county, and local permitting effortsSupport the preparation of project sales proposalsSupport project financing by responding to lender and independent engineer due diligence questionsInterface with the Project Management, Project Electrical Engineering, and Operations teams leading up to and through project commercial operationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in an engineering or related technical discipline including but not limited to Physics and Atmospheric Science. Master's Degree is a plus.2-4+ years of related experience in the renewable energy industryProficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Open to occasional travel.Valid Driver's License.Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in an engineering or other relevant science discipline is a plusFamiliarity with resource and energy modeling software including PVsyst and SAMFamiliarity with site design tools including AutoCAD and GIS softwareKnowledge of meteorological data sources, long term correlation methods, and other statistical analysisKnowledge of energy project economics and familiarity with concepts such as NPV, IRR and LCOEAbility to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects at a timeExcellent verbal, writing, and interpersonal skillsDesire to work in a dynamic environment alongside people with multiple interests and backgroundsBase Pay$85,000.00 - $108,000.00 USD AnnualBonus: 15%The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position.
