XThis is a specialized role which requires physical interaction with hardware equipment in a simulated data center environment, utilizing Google labs, power, and safety equipment. Regular development and processing of engineering hardware must be performed on site.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor"s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience working in a data center systems architecture, design, hardware bring-up and validation technical environment.
• 5 years of experience in technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience using data analytics to inform strategies for qualification and design validation.

As a part of the Google Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of Google's compute and storage machines to satisfy Google Data Center internal use and external Cloud customers. Your team will design and build the hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all of Google"s services.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will design and build the systems that are the heart of the world"s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You will see those systems from concepts all the way through to high-volume manufacturing. You will have the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our data centers, affecting millions of Google users.The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what's possible. We empower Google customers with breakthrough capabilities and insights by delivering AI and Infrastructure at unparalleled scale, efficiency, reliability and velocity. US: $236000 - $330000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Lead system and subsystem hardware validation for data center products.
• Develop strategy and roadmap for test infrastructure and processes to meet future technology and portfolio requirements.
• Gather requirements, define high level architecture and execution strategy for product hardware validation.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, product, and deployment teams to support deployment and field support in Google data centers.
• Partner closely with external technology and system partners, representing Google's technical requirements, and work extensively with software development and validation teams on qualification, verification strategy and planning.
