This role strips out the daily tactical grind and focuses entirely on high-level vendor matrixing, contract negotiation, and proactive supply chain defense. 

Position Overview: The Senior Strategic Buyer develops and executes sourcing strategies to identify, qualify, and manage vendor relationships. This role is strictly measured on driving cost optimization through concrete vendor comparison matrices, negotiating favorable terms, and implementing Corrective/Preventative Actions (CAPA) for supply chain failures, all while operating within Macola software requirements. 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Develop and execute vendor comparison matrices to achieve targeted cost reductions (e.g., minimum 5% savings on targeted non-specific parts). 

  • Identify top alternative vendors for single-sourced components, secure initial capability quotes, and lead vendor review meetings. 

  • Document and track weekly short pick occurrences and returns from final, identifying root causes and implementing CAPA. 

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms & conditions with vendors to achieve favorable outcomes. 

  • Develop internal SOPs for supply chain processes (e.g., RMA processing and cross-training backup manuals). 

  • Draft supplier scorecards and conduct structured quarterly business reviews with key vendors. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration preferred. 

  • 5+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience; 3+ years in strategic sourcing. 

  • Proven track record of quantifiable cost savings and contract negotiations. 

  • Proficient with Macola and/or similar ERP systems. 

  • Strong communication and independent decision-making skills.
