As a member of Garvers growing Water Design Center, the Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for developing structural designs in support of water and wastewater treatment projects and related facilities. The Senior Structural Engineer will lead a project team of junior engineers, designers, and technicians to produce plans and specifications and manage workload on various Water Business Line projects.
This role in the Water Design Center will consist of providing structural support as required for a variety of water and wastewater projects, but the majority of the expected assignments will be related to developing structural designs for new water and wastewater treatment plants or improvements to existing water and wastewater treatment facilities.
This position will be responsible for performing numerous structural design tasks related to water and wastewater facilities such as:
Typical designs will include treatment process basins, chemical facilities, administration buildings, retaining walls, and other supporting structures.
The structural group will be responsible for:
Assist the Structural Group Leader in managing and mentoring teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products that adhere to Garver standards. Some travel may be required as projects may require field work for site assessment of project locations and support during construction.
Primary responsibilities of the Senior Structural Engineer will include:
Due to the collaborative nature of coordination for large infrastructure projects, candidates must have the ability to seek out and resolve issues through close interaction with other project team members. In addition, the candidate must be able to maintain a positive team attitude and interpersonal effectiveness to recruit, develop, and maintain an efficient and productive structural team.
