Senior Structural Engineer Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (must be eligible for Florida registration)
- 15+ years of structural engineering experience
- Tenure of at least 2 consecutive years with current employer
- Demonstrated job stability across prior roles
- Proficiency in Revit, RISA Suite (Floor, 3D, Foundation), TEDDS, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (legal authorization to work in the U.S.)
Senior Structural Engineer Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience delivering design for Department of Defense (DoD) projects
- Familiarity with EM-385, UFC, and federal/military building codes
- Experience mentoring and onboarding engineering staff
Senior Structural Engineer Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee structural design for military and government facilities
- Perform complex structural analysis and generate calculations
- Prepare and review detailed construction drawings using Revit, RISA, and TEDDS
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors throughout project lifecycle
- Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and support all aspects of construction administration
- Mentor junior team members and uphold design standards and best practices
- Ensure rigorous compliance with all DoD and federal requirements
