Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop safe, efficient, and innovative solutions for dynamic and often unconventional structures.ResponsibilitiesLead and deliver structural engineering analysis and design across a range of bespoke systems including structures, machinery, and riggingPerform detailed calculations using hand methods, engineering judgement, and advanced analysis softwareTranslate conceptual designs into robust engineering solutions that meet client, regulatory, and internal requirementsCollaborate closely with design studios, project managers, and manufacturing teams to support project development and executionProvide clear and timely communication of engineering results, risks, and recommendationsEnsure compliance with relevant UK and international standards and codesSupport and guide junior engineers, contributing to knowledge sharing and team developmentEngage with external engineering partners and third-party consultants where requiredContribute to the continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes, and standards within TAITParticipate in design reviews, project meetings, and technical discussionsPosition RequirementsBachelor's degree (or higher) in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline8+ Years of experience in structural engineeringExtensive professional experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on analysis and designDemonstrated experience delivering complex or bespoke structures, ideally within entertainment, temporary works, or similarly challenging industriesStrong understanding of structural behaviour including stress, deflection, stability, and dynamic effectsProficiency with structural analysis tools (e.g. RISA-3D, SAP2000, Robot, or equivalent)Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, BS standards, or international equivalents)Experience designing with materials such as steel and aluminium; knowledge of composites is advantageousProven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple prioritiesChartered Engineer status (CEng) or actively working towards chartership is desirableExperience in entertainment engineering, stage machinery, or kinetic structuresExposure to dynamic or moving structures and load casesExperience working in a design-for-manufacture environmentExperience mentoring or supporting junior engineersTAIT is an equal opportunity employer fully committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
