Senior Structural Engineer

We seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead structural design efforts, collaborate with senior staff, and deliver innovative solutions for a wide range of building projects. You will work closely with engineers, consultants, and clients to ensure high-quality engineering analysis, design, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and design of structural systems, preparing calculations, specifications, and construction documents in compliance with codes.
  • Support project execution through planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities
  • Document design decisions, track progress, and monitor project budgets and timelines
  • Analyze engineering challenges and develop innovative, practical solutions
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Identify project risks and escalate issues to the Project Manager as needed
  • Oversee projects through the full lifecycle, including:
    • Design development
    • Construction documentation
    • Construction administration (submittals, RFIs, site observations)
  • Uphold safety, ethics, and professional standards in all work

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience (10+ preferred) in building design consulting
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Structural systems and load paths
    • Materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry)
    • Engineering mechanics and design standards
  • Proficiency in structural design and analysis software
  • Experience producing technical plans and specifications
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% (including occasional overnight stays)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license or progress toward certification
  • Experience mentoring or training junior engineers
