Job Title: Senior Structural Designer (Tekla)US Citizenship RequiredTelework Type: Full-Time Office/ProjectWork Location: Ogden, UTJob Summary:In this role as Senior Structural Tekla Designer, you will support the structural design for the project. This will entail originating/checking complex structural designs of concrete or steel. Additionally, review and coordination of vendor information and leading technical discussions and constructability reviews. Major Responsibilities:Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of steel, concrete, reinforcing steel, cold-formed steel, anchor bolts, and steel and reinforcing steel detailingCoordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work with engineersFacilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators)Coordinates assigned structural design work with other project groupsCommunicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper managementEnsures structural systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standardsMentors structural designers by providing appropriate on-the-job training for their professional developmentCoordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.Development of concrete and steel structural design and drawings, including seismic detailing.Review existing conditions and as-builts drawings.Review customer & vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution.Prepares or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs for proposals, forecasts, and change ordersEducation and Experience Requirements:Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and Skills:Ability to independently execute the detailed design of complex steel and/or concrete structuresProficient in the use of TEKLA software, and detailing steel and reinforced concrete in TEKLAThorough knowledge and application of the Detailing for Steel Construction, ACI Detailing Manual SPI-66, and Building Information Modeling.Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, and of construction methods for concrete and steel structuresUnderstands work processes of other disciplines and departments on projectsExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written)Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verballyAbility to utilize office automation tools effectivelyBroad knowledge of the application of structural engineering design principlesMust be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background checkPreferred Qualifications:Possess active security clearancePrior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of DefensePrior experience with United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Computed-Aided Design (CAD) Standard ERDC/ITL TR-19-7Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide$77-$85/hr.+PD
