    Description

    Senior Structures/Project Engineer (Bridge)Dewberry is seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and detail oriented individual to join our structures department in Rancho Cordova, CA as a Senior Structures/Project Engineer (Bridge). The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily of concrete and steel construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures). The candidate will also be involved in leading and developing Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages, field inspections, and performing construction design support services. Project Engineering responsibilities include being the technical lead on multidisciplinary teams, utility coordination, right‑of‑way needs assessments, funding justifications, and other items needed for project development. This position offers tremendous potential for professional growth in a great working environment and the opportunity to deliver important infrastructure projects for our clients as well as help them solve their most challenging problem.ResponsibilitiesIndependently prepares project plan and estimate (P&E) packages including quantities, calculations, reports, and exhibits on small to mid level projectsWorks as part of a team preparing project plan and estimate (P&E) packages including quantities, calculations, reports, and exhibits on large level projectsLeads project teams and coordinates between disciplines to oversee project deliveryPrepares notes for specification writers and standard Caltrans style structures specificationsWorks closely and coordinates with other disciplines including CAD draftersParticipates and leads utility, permitting, and subconsultant coordination on projectsPerforms QA/QC on projects per internal standardsPrepares QA/QC checklist packages per internal standardsMentors and supervises younger staffLeads and assists in preparing proposal write‑ups and exhibitsLeads and assists in preparing scopes, fees, and proposal packagesParticipates and leads efforts in internal technical trainingsPrepares RE Pending Files and is involved with bidding and construction support servicesAttends periodic site visits, structures observations, and other field meetingsMonitors and manages scopes and budgets during project production effortsQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited 4‑year engineering collegeMaster's degree is preferredCalifornia Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred10+ years of experience in bridge and retaining wall projectsExperience designing transportation‑related structures projects to Caltrans and local agency standardsFamiliarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications with Caltrans AmendmentsPreference for knowledge of CTBridge, CSiBridge, VBent, CTAbut, LPile, and/or similar analysis programsProficiency using CADD (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred)Strong leadership skills and desire to deliver the highest quality projects to our clientsProficient in MS Office (WORD and EXCEL)Strong verbal and written communication skillsSalary RangeThe projected range for this position is $135,000 - $190,000 annually.
