Senior Substation Engineer - Controls - Remote

We’re looking for a motivated Substation Design Engineer to join our team, This is a remote role. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment on critical energy infrastructure projects across North America.
 
Responsibilities:

• You’ll be responsible for substation electrical design, planning, and analysis—supporting both new construction and upgrades. Your work will include:

• Designing and reviewing substation layouts, plan and profiles, one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, grounding layouts, and protective device drawings

• Performing engineering studies: short-circuit, grounding, voltage drop, and equipment rating

• Developing technical specifications for procurement and construction

• Coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to manage design deliverables

• Conducting field inspections and supporting troubleshooting efforts

• Tracking project status, responding to client feedback, and ensuring design accuracy

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), ABET Accredited

• 7+ years of experience in substation design or related electrical engineering

• Familiarity with applicable codes (e.g., IEEE, NESC, NEC)

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• PE license is required
