Senior Substation Project Manager
Location: Greater Philadelphia Area, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland + Client Sites (Hybrid)

About the Role
ExecuPOWER is seeking a Senior Substation Project Manager to lead complex utility projects from kickoff through closeout. This hybrid role offers a mix of time in our King of Prussia office, client site engagement, and remote flexibility.
You will play a critical leadership role in delivering high-voltage substation projects?driving execution, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
What You'll Do
Project Leadership
- Lead full lifecycle delivery of substation projects, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
- Ensure alignment across scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
Project Controls & Financial Oversight
- Monitor and manage project budgets, including capital expenditure authorizations and revisions
- Track contractor performance and resource utilization
- Partner with Portfolio and Work Management teams to develop and maintain project schedules
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of key project documentation, including:
- Contracts and requisitions
- Bills of Material (BOM)
- Task Authorizations and Engineering Work Requests
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Provide regular updates to internal leadership and client stakeholders
- Communicate project priorities, risks, and performance metrics
- Serve as a trusted partner to clients, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
Quality & Risk Management
- Oversee QA/QC programs and ensure compliance with industry and client standards
- Review and approve contractor procedures and deliverables
- Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies
Project Closeout
- Lead project closeout activities, including documentation, audits, and performance evaluation
- Ensure successful delivery and realization of project objectives
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years of substation experience within the utility industry
- Proven ability to manage large, complex projects across multiple workstreams
- Strong background in project controls, financial oversight, and scheduling
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving ability
What Sets You Apart
- PMP Certification (completed or in progress)
- Experience with project management tools such as Primavera, MS Project, or Deltek Vantagepoint
- Advanced knowledge of project controls, forecasting, and risk management
