Overview Kimley-Horns Orlando, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Substation P&C Engineer with 4+ years of relevant experience to join our diverse and fast-paced organization! This is not a remote position. This is a strategic opportunity for a highly experienced engineer and project manager to lead complex utility-scale substation projects and help drive growth in the P&C space.
Responsibilities To act in a senior technical capacity in producing engineering related project deliverables relating to power system Protection & Control (P&C), within the power delivery Practice. This includes (but not limited to):
Core design responsibilities include:
One-line diagrams
Three-line diagrams
Potential and current schematics
Control and Indication schematics
Communication Interconnections
Wiring Diagrams
Equipment Sizing and Specifications
I/O mapping
Construction Documentation / Outage Sequencing
Procurement and Construction Support
Assist with developing and implementing policies, processes, procedures, standards, and technical guidance, as required, to continually improve the engineering capability within the P&C practice.
Plan and lead client meetings (or meeting sections) relating to P&C, as required.
Support the preparation of project proposals and tender presentations.
Provide Quality Control reviews on substation protection packages.
Provide support for continued professional development of less experienced engineers in team, including technical guidance, and recommending training needs to the P&C group.
