Remarkable.The Anniston, Alabama site of BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Sr. SQE) within their Procurement Quality Support Engineering (PQSE) group. This is an advanced career opportunity. In this role, the Sr. SQE is responsible for day‑to‑day supplier quality interactions on a given program, investigating, evaluating, and resolving supplier quality problems by conducting defect investigations, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects. The Sr. SQE will lead and conduct containment efforts, maintaining traceability of actions and delegating accordingly, to ensure the swift containment of supplier non‑conformances. Frequent interaction and status reporting to internal and external customers is required. The successful candidate will support multiple projects to completion, in support of the overall program. This position entails enforcing purchase order (PO) requirements, supplier non‑conformance management, and supplier performance improvement, including thorough root cause analysis and effective corrective action.Note: This role supports 100% on‑site.Overall Duties IncludeEvaluating the impact of nonconforming product and assessing suppliers' corrective actions.Championing problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non‑conformances.Evaluating First Article Inspections per the AS9102 requirements.Working with suppliers to meet BAE Systems' requirements.Evaluating First Article Test plans and reporting for execution and approval.Driving “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base and applying A3 problem solving tools.Required Education, Experience, & SkillsTypically requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field of study and 4 years related work experience, or the equivalent.Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to write, speak, and deliver professional presentations.Strong working knowledge of mechanical drawing interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Proficient in Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems and AS9102B First Article Requirements or comparable industry standards.Demonstrated ability to apply practical, results‑oriented problem‑solving techniques to technical challenges.Computer skills to include MS Office Suite and related industry software applications.Experience working within a manufacturing environment.Preferred Education, Experience, & SkillsExperience in a Defense Prime Contract environment.Experience with product line validation, test plans, test equipment, and product qualifications.Specific experience with electrical assemblies for the Defense Industry.Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools (e.g., Green/Black Belt).Experience with Toyota Production System (TPS), Toyota Way, and A3 problem solving tools.Pay InformationFull‑Time Salary Range: $79,370 - $134,929Employee Benefits: At BAE Systems, we support our employees in all aspects of their life, including health, dental, and vision insurance; health savings accounts; a 401(k) savings plan; disability coverage; and life and accident insurance.
