The U.S. Department of State, Foreign Assistance Section in Cameroon (DoS FA) team supports the U.S. Government's America First Global Health Strategy. This strategy prioritizes contributing to global health improvements, including saving lives and strengthening health systems in Cameroon which ultimately protects both Americans and Cameroonians. The US Government partners with the Ministry of Health as international donors, to implement health assistance-related programs.
The DoS FA team portfolio includes supply chain and logistics, laboratory services, health financing, Malaria and HIV service delivery in the community and health facilities, community health system strengthening and policy change.

The Senior Supply Chain Advisor will play a pivotal role in implementing the 2030 Vision for Cameroon's integrated supply chain, ensuring a system free of stockouts through pooled procurement and modernized distribution and that adequate controls are in place to support transparent supply chain management free of any fraud, waste, or abuse. A critical focus of this role is overseeing the transition of the USG's commodity portfolio from Implementing Organizations-led procurement and distribution to full Government of Cameroon (GRC) management by 2030. The Advisor will also serve as the primary technical liaison between the Cameroon Foreign Assistance Office, the Technical Management Unit (TMU), and the Joint Health Cooperation Steering Committee (JHCSC) to ensure the successful execution of the Health MOU.
The Senior Supply Chain Advisor will be part of the technical staff supporting DoS FA supply chain and health systems portfolio, for commodities and infrastructure. The position will be housed within the Ministry of Health, specifically the DPML, providing expert technical guidance to government units including CENAME, NACC, NMCP, NTP, Zoonosis, DLMEP, DPML, and the UCS, and the Bilateral Health MOU Joint Technical Secretariat.
This position will play a critical role in supporting the phased transition toward 100% domestic funding and full self-reliance for essential health commodities by 2030. The Advisor will support the DPML in carrying out life-saving humanitarian assistance (LHA) service delivery in full alignment with the new Presidential Executive Order (EO) directives.
Objective of Assignment: The DoS FA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Health Supply Chain Advisor to provide technical leadership, expertise and guidance to facilitate the implementation of the commodities and supply chain management components of the USG-Government of Cameroon bilateral agreement with the objective of supporting the government's vision of an integrated health care commodity supply chain system, free of stockouts, that uses a pooled procurement vehicle, and Central and Regional Health Stores for distribution to health facilities.
