We are seeking a versatile AWS System Administrator/DevOps Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize our critical Medicaid Management application environment.  This role requires expertise in traditional system administration (RHEL, WebLogic, Oracle) and modern DevOps practices on AWS. A key responsibility will be building a Proof of Concept (POC) to re-architect and rebuild the legacy application in a scalable, cloud-native AWS environment.

  • Responsible for providing technology initiatives, support on-going release activities and POC for MMIS application transformation as System Admin/DevOps engineer.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in AWS cloud environments (EC2 instances).
  • Administer and troubleshoot Java/J2EE applications deployed on WebLogic application servers, including configuration of JDBC data sources, connection pools, and JVM performance monitoring.
  • Provide system-level support for Oracle RDS, collaborating with DBA teams for performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security using tools like Dynatrace, CloudWatch and implement robust troubleshooting procedures for application and infrastructure issues.
  • Build a Proof of Concept (POC) for rebuilding the legacy Java/J2EE application using modern AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3), micro services to improve scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
