    Job Description

    Summary/objective

    The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's ITS infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role involves managing complex systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and leading ITS projects while mentoring junior team members and collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational goals.

    Essential Functions

    • Design, deploy, and maintain server and network infrastructure, including physical and virtual environments.
    • Monitor system performance and implement necessary updates to ensure efficiency and reliability.
    • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions to safeguard organizational data.
    • Perform advanced troubleshooting for hardware, software, and networking issues.
    • Administer and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware.
    • Enhance system security by implementing best practices, managing patches, and conducting vulnerability assessments.
    • Create and update documentation for systems, configurations, and processes to ensure operational continuity.
    • Lead IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new technology implementations.
    • Collaborate with the IT Security Specialist to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff, fostering professional development.
