Senior System Administrator

Setting/Hours: Hybrid - 3 Days Remote | 8am-5pm

Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Mason, Ohio that’s expanding its Shared Services team. 

Position Summary:
Opportunity for a senior-level cloud and identity professional to take ownership of a Microsoft cloud environment and enhance its security, governance, and operational maturity. This role focuses on strengthening identity and access controls, standardizing configurations, and driving consistent processes across a multi-location organization. As a key technical leader, you will play a critical role in elevating platform performance, improving documentation, and serving as a senior escalation point while partnering closely with IT and security teams to ensure a resilient, scalable, and best-in-class cloud environment.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead the design and governance of identity and access controls, including role-based access, MFA, and lifecycle management processes to strengthen overall security posture

  • Administer and optimize Microsoft cloud technologies, ensuring consistent configuration, performance, and alignment with best practices across core platforms

  • Partner with security leadership to implement controls, enhance monitoring capabilities, and support ongoing risk and vulnerability management efforts

  • Support integration and governance of SaaS and multi-cloud environments, ensuring secure connectivity and thoughtful evaluation of new technologies

  • Provide oversight of network and office infrastructure to maintain secure, standardized configurations across multiple locations

  • Drive process improvements by developing documentation, standard operating procedures, and automation to increase efficiency and consistency

  • Serve as a senior technical escalation point, contributing to problem resolution, elevating team capabilities, and promoting long-term, scalable solutions

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Senior-level individual contributor with strong expertise in Microsoft cloud platforms and identity management

  • Proven experience administering Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID in a production environment

  • Hands-on experience implementing Conditional Access, MFA, and role-based access control (RBAC)

  • Skilled in integrating SaaS applications using SAML, OIDC, or similar protocols

  • Experience managing endpoints with Intune across Windows and macOS environments

  • Strong PowerShell scripting abilities to automate and streamline processes

  • Demonstrated success improving structure, governance, and documentation in less mature environments

  • Highly organized with a process-driven mindset and strong documentation practices

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications (e.G., AZ-104, SC-300, MD-102) or similar credentials

  • Experience supporting SOC 2 readiness or audit preparation efforts

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and related security tools

  • Exposure to AWS or Google Workspace environments

  • Experience standardizing network or firewall configurations

  • Knowledge of CIS benchmarks or Microsoft security baselines

  • Familiarity with ITIL or IT service management practices
