Overview 

The Senior Systems Analyst keeps Sarku Japan's corporate technology environment secure, reliable, and easy to use. This role monitors system, network, and infrastructure performance, manages authorized access to company systems, and provides hands-on support for employees, executives, and corporate office technology. As a senior member of the Information Technology team, the Senior Systems Analyst resolves complex issues, sets up new employees for success on day one, and helps standardize the tools and processes that support a growing organization. 

Essential Responsibilities 

The Senior Systems Analyst is accountable for the following essential responsibilities: 

  • Monitor the performance, availability, and capacity of servers, networks, cloud services, and core infrastructure; investigate alerts, resolve incidents, and escalate to vendors as needed. 
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and security groups across Microsoft 365, Active Directory or Entra ID, and business applications, following least privilege and approval standards. 
  • Conduct periodic access reviews and promptly remove access for terminated or transferred employees in partnership with HR. 
  • Provide priority technology support for the executive team and corporate office, including devices, meetings, travel setups, and board and committee presentations. 
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for user and endpoint support, troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, and mobile device issues. 
  • Manage endpoint configuration, patching, antivirus, encryption, and mobile device management to keep devices secure and compliant. 
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding and offboarding, including account creation, equipment provisioning, system access, and technology orientation. 
  • Maintain corporate office technology, including conference rooms, audio visual equipment, printers, Wi-Fi, and phones. 
  • Track hardware and software assets, licenses, and warranties; support purchasing and vendor relationships for IT equipment and services. 
  • Document procedures, configurations, and knowledge base articles; recommend improvements that reduce recurring issues. 
  • Support backup, recovery, and business continuity activities, and participate in IT projects and system upgrades. 

Qualifications 

Minimum qualifications include: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration, IT support, or infrastructure operations, including direct end-user support. 
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, Active Directory or Entra ID, and Windows and macOS devices. 
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, and wireless. 
  • Experience with endpoint management and monitoring tools such as Intune, Jamf, or similar platforms. 
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including comfort supporting senior executives.

  • Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity. 

Knowledge and Experience 

The role requires advanced analytical and technical knowledge and independent judgment across the following areas: 

  • Systems and infrastructure administration across on-premise and cloud environments. 
  • Identity and access management concepts, including role-based access, multi-factor authentication, and access reviews. 
  • Endpoint security practices, including patching, encryption, and device compliance. 
  • Network and infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. 
  • IT service management practices, including ticketing, prioritization, and service level expectations. 
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Security+, Microsoft 365 Administrator, or ITIL Foundation are a plus. 
  • Judgment to prioritize competing requests, assess security risk, and escalate issues appropriately. 

Physical Requirements 

This role requires the ability to perform office-based and on-site technical responsibilities, including: 

  • Extended periods of computer use. 
  • Frequent standing and walking to support users, conference rooms, and office equipment. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when moving or installing equipment. 
  • Ability to bend, reach, and work in tight spaces such as under desks and in network closets. 
  • Occasional travel to other Sarku Japan locations as needed. 

Working Conditions 

Works primarily in a ​corporate office​ environment. 

  • ​​Occasional (<10%) travel required.​ 
  • Standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance windows, system upgrades, and urgent issues. 
  • May participate in an on-call rotation to support critical systems and executives.
