Our client is a well-established professional services organization seeking an experienced IT infrastructure professional to take up the Senior Systems Administrator role and support and optimize enterprise systems across multiple office locations. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining system performance, enhancing infrastructure security, and ensuring business continuity across the organization.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$100k - $120k

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to maintain, support, and continuously improve enterprise infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, security platforms, and disaster recovery solutions. This individual will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, performance, and security while providing advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, deep infrastructure expertise, and the ability to manage complex technical projects independently in a fast-paced professional environment.

Responsibilities of the Senior Systems Administrator:
  • The Senior Systems Administrator will maintain and upgrade the IT infrastructure, including servers, switches, routers, firewalls, SAN, and change control processes.
  • Continuously evaluate computer systems for overall health, performance, and security, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Apply software upgrades, security patches, and system maintenance across all platforms.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and perform root cause analysis on complex infrastructure issues.
  • The Senior Systems Administrator will create and maintain detailed documentation for hardware inventory, system configurations, software configurations, repair history, maintenance procedures, and operational processes.
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure improvements to increase performance, availability, and security.
  • Mentor IT staff and provide technical support to end users, including professionals and administrative staff.
  • Travel occasionally to regional offices as needed.
  • The Senior Systems Administrator will support disaster recovery planning, replication, failover, and failback procedures.
  • Assist with infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, and strategic IT initiatives.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Systems Administrator:
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across desktops, servers, storage, and networking environments.
  • Strong organizational, project planning, and time management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, standards, and procedures related to infrastructure and security.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines under time constraints.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support projects and critical issues.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft Windows Server.
    • Active Directory.
    • DNS / DHCP.
    • Microsoft SQL Server.
    • Citrix XenApp / NetScaler.
    • Enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
    • Microsoft Exchange / Outlook.
    • VMware virtualization and enterprise storage technologies.
    • Check Point firewall configuration and policy management.
    • Disaster recovery, including replication, failover, and failback procedures.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Systems Administrator:
  • Experience with document management systems.
  • Prior experience working in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Microsoft certifications, such as MCSE.
  • Cisco certifications, such as CCNP.
  • VMware certifications, such as VCP.
  • Security-related industry certifications are preferred.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
