About the Job
Venatôre is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator with strong PowerShell scripting and Windows Server administration experience to manage, maintain, and enhance enterprise systems infrastructure. This role is responsible for server and virtual infrastructure administration, Active Directory services, Group Policy, certificate lifecycle management, system security, performance, and availability. The Systems Administrator will automate administrative functions wherever practical, troubleshoot complex technical issues, support infrastructure modernization and security initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to deliver solutions aligned with command requirements. This position also provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior administrators and team members.

Responsibilities

Windows Server & Domain Administration

• Build, deploy, configure, administer, and maintain Windows Server environments and domain infrastructure.
• Manage core Microsoft infrastructure services, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Active Directory Sites and Services, and Active Directory Domains and Trusts.
• Create and administer privileged administrator accounts, managed service accounts, and other system accounts in accordance with applicable security requirements.
• Monitor and tune system performance to maintain reliability, availability, and operational effectiveness.
• Install and maintain enterprise software and coordinate the implementation of critical operating system and application patches.
• Schedule, plan, coordinate, and oversee system upgrades and infrastructure changes.

PowerShell Automation

• Develop, maintain, and execute PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive systems administration, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and reliability through automation.
• Maintain appropriate documentation for scripts, automated workflows, dependencies, and administrative procedures.

Group Policy & Security Administration

• Develop, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) with appropriate targeting, scoping, testing, and documentation.
• Implement Group Policy changes supporting computing resource requirements and remediation of identified security vulnerabilities.
• Ensure systems are administered in accordance with applicable security policies, regulations, technical standards, and industry best practices.
• Support remediation activities related to system vulnerabilities, configuration deficiencies, and security findings.

Certificate & PKI Support

• Manage certificate lifecycle activities supporting web servers, systems, applications, and secure communication channels.
• Monitor certificate status and coordinate certificate issuance, renewal, replacement, revocation, and deployment activities as required.
• Support Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) administration and troubleshoot certificate-related issues affecting enterprise services.

Troubleshooting & Operational Support

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and remediate complex system, server, infrastructure, security, performance, and availability issues, including issues without previously documented solutions.
• Interact with end users and technical stakeholders to identify requirements, investigate problems, and develop appropriate solutions.
• Interface with third-party vendors to coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of product or service issues.
• Ensure incidents and technical problems are accurately tracked, documented, prioritized, and escalated at the appropriate level.
• Collaborate with enterprise IT teams to address operational requirements and resolve cross-functional technical issues.

Infrastructure Projects & Continuous Improvement

• Support infrastructure projects and initiatives designed to improve the efficiency, capability, reliability, or security of the environment.
• Evaluate vendor products and technical solutions to develop functional requirements for system enhancements and changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions aligned with command requirements.
• Produce technical data sets, reports, and informational materials for management in support of operational visibility and process improvement efforts.

Documentation & Team Development

• Review, develop, and maintain technical documentation covering system configurations, testing, administrative procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational processes.
• Document system changes, configurations, Group Policy implementations, automation processes, and technical best practices.
• Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and mentorship to junior administrators and other team members.
• Promote a strong foundational understanding of the systems and services supporting organizational operations.

Required Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance is required.
• Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 certification.
• Demonstrated proficiency in PowerShell scripting and the automation of repetitive systems administration tasks.
• Proven experience in systems administration and enterprise infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
• Strong understanding of certificate lifecycle management.
• Experience developing, implementing, and administering Group Policy, including policies supporting resource management and security vulnerability remediation.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex server, infrastructure, performance, security, and availability issues.
• Ability to review, modify, and develop comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, procedures, and best practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT teams, technical stakeholders, end users, and third-party vendors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Windows Hybrid Administrator certification.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification or higher.
• ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
• Experience supporting USCENTCOM and familiarity with its mission.
• Knowledge of and familiarity with USCENTCOM’s IT environment.
• Experience working on cross-functional IT teams and technical projects.
• Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) administration.
