Job Summary
The Minnesota Attorney General's Office (AGO) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems / Cloud Engineer to join our IT Division. In this senior level role, you will provide advanced engineering, administration, and lifecycle management of the AGO's cloud and on-premises infrastructure. You will independently design, implement, monitor, and troubleshoot systems that support critical AGO operations, including Azure cloud services, identity and access management, virtualization platforms, servers, storage, backups, monitoring, and disaster recovery readiness. This role plays a key part in ensuring secure, stable, and high performing systems by conducting complex technical analysis, leading modernization and resiliency improvements, and serving as an escalation point for cross platform incidents. You will directly contribute to the strategic advancement of AGO technical infrastructure while maintaining strong communication and customer service relationships with end-users, IT colleagues, and agency partners.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in information technology, information systems, or closely related field AND four or more years of directly related work experience
OR six or more years of directly related work experience
Experience administering and supporting Azure and/or AWS cloud environments, including identity and access management, compute, networking, storage (Azure Files, Azure Blob, SharePoint), governance, billing, and monitoring.
Professional experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper V), storage technologies, certificates, and enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, CommVault).
Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex, multi platform technical incidents and conduct thorough root cause analysis across cloud and on premise environments.
Experience with infrastructure automation (PowerShell, CLI, APIs), monitoring tools, and performance tuning of cloud and hybrid systems.
Knowledge of disaster recovery, resilience patterns, high availability architectures, and enterprise backup strategies.
Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, organizational, and customer service skills; ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt to evolving technologies and priorities.
