Senior Systems Engineer - Cloud and Application Integration w/TS Clearance

Responsibilities & Qualifications

We are seeking Senior Systems Engineer - Cloud and Application Integration for the Department of State COMSEC IT Services contract.

The Senior Systems Engineer - Cloud and Application Integration will design, integrate, test, implement, and sustain systems supporting COMSEC operations and modernization. The role will work across applications, infrastructure, automation, cloud technologies, databases, and security engineering.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• Experience with:

• NIST 800-53.

• Security control lifecycles.

• Integrated Development Environments.

• API development platforms and/or build automation tools.

• AWS.

• Python.

• SQL.

• Azure.

• C# or equivalent certifications/experience.

• Demonstrated experience supporting government agencies, customers, or contracts within federal environments. This includes the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civil agencies, and military organizations. Prior experience supporting the same or similar contract, with an in-depth understanding of the customer environment, requirements, and operational landscape, is highly desirable.

Certifications

One of the following 8570 IAT Level II Certificaitons

• CompTIA Security+ CE - Security+ Continuing Education
• CompTIA CySA+ - Cybersecurity Analyst
• GIAC GSEC - GIAC Security Essentials Certification
• GIAC GICSP - Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional
• ISC2 SSCP - Systems Security Certified Practitioner
• Cisco CCNA Security - legacy/retired certification
• EC-Council CND - Certified Network Defender, included in later approved-baseline mappings

Education

• Preferred Bachelor's degree

Clearance

• Active Top Secret clearance required; TS/SCI eligibility/access may be required based on assigned duties

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience engineering systems in classified environments.

• Experience with DevSecOps and cloud architectures.

• Experience supporting secure applications or COMSEC systems.

• Experience integrating legacy and modern enterprise technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop system designs, architectures, and technical solutions.

• Support integration of applications, infrastructure, databases, and cloud services.

• Develop engineering plans, implementation procedures, and technical documentation.

• Support system testing, validation, deployment, and lifecycle sustainment.

• Troubleshoot complex systems and integration issues.

• Support automation and modernization initiatives.

• Work with development and operations teams to improve system reliability and maintainability.

• Apply NIST 800-53 controls and security requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.

• Support API-based integration and build-automation environments.

• Participate in configuration management and technical change control.

• Coordinate with cybersecurity, database, software-development, and network-engineering teams

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $120,000 - $185,000. The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
