Date Posted: 2025-12-11Country: United States of AmericaLocation: 601: Goleta (EW) Bldg H01 6380 Hollister Avenue Building H01, Goleta, CA, 93117 USAPosition: Senior Systems Engineer (Electronic Warfare)Responsibilities Serve as the primary Systems Engineering focal point for the program.Manage configuration process, perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.Partner with the Program Chief Engineer to ensure engineering team aligns to cost/schedule.Provide technical directions to multi-disciplinary program teams.Implement and ensure adherence to systems engineering processes throughout program lifecycle.Oversee development and maintenance of technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test plans.Coordinate system engineering activities: requirements analysis, system design, integration and testing.Conduct system-level trade studies and performance analysis.Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer presentations.Support program management with technical risk assessments and mitigation strategies.Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.Perform architectural exploration, decompose customer specifications and system level requirements into subsystem and component requirements, and generate verification criteria and plans.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Physics) and 5+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.Experience in EW/Radar system development, including requirements decomposition, architecture definition, and system-level integration & verification planning.Experience developing systems engineering artifacts such as requirements, specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and verification/validation (V&V) plans.Experience supporting system-level technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and coordinating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date.U.S. citizenship required.Preferred: Writing, managing, and tracing system and subsystem requirements for EW/Radar systems throughout the lifecycle.Defining system architectures, performance budgets, and interface definitions (RF, digital, and mixed‑signal).Planning and overseeing development of Special Test Equipment (STE) and system‑level test infrastructure.Analyzing and modeling EW/Radar system performance, including RF chain, signal processing, and end‑to‑end behavior.Knowledge of millimeter wave and microwave RF at module and system levels.Integrating mixed‑signal modules into higher level assemblies, including interface and configuration management.Experience developing or interpreting security and cybersecurity requirements relevant to government systems.Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes, including SysML and Cameo Enterprise Architecture.Flight test or field test experience supporting system-level evaluation and data analysis.Benefits RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
