About the PositionThis is the technical lead focusing on Qumulo's media, entertainment, gaming, and sports accounts. You'll partner with Sales and customers across the full cycle, from discovery through proof-of-concept, designing storage and workflow architectures for some of the most demanding content production environments in the industry. The work is hands-on with the people doing the work: technical directors, post supervisors, pipeline engineers, and IT teams running editorial, VFX, rendering, and live broadcast pipelines. You'll translate their workflow requirements into solutions that hold up at 4K/8K, high frame rates, and multi-site collaboration.ResponsibilitiesOwn the technical relationship on MEGS opportunities, from discovery and demos through POCs and architecture sign-offPartner with account teams to qualify deals and shape technical strategies for performance-intensive workloads like VFX rendering, editorial finishing, and live broadcastDesign architectures for the demands of modern production: throughput, low-latency access, scale, and multi-site collaboration across post and distributionBuild credibility with technical directors, post supervisors, pipeline engineers, and IT operationsBuild and maintain the MEGS technical toolkit: reference architectures, workflow demos, solution briefs, and competitive positioningQualifications8+ years in a customer-facing technical role (Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Media Solutions Engineer) at a software, storage, or tech company, including 4+ years focused on media and entertainmentTrack record leading complex pre-sales engagements end to end, with results you can point toWorking knowledge of the tools customers use day to day: editorial (Avid, Premiere), VFX (Nuke, After Effects, Flame), 3D and rendering (Maya, Cinema 4D), color (DaVinci Resolve), or sports broadcast platformsStrong grounding in unstructured data storage for media: file system performance, metadata, collaborative access, and high-throughput I/O, including NFS, SMB, and objectComfort engaging creative, technical, and executive audiences in the same roomCandidates with additional experience will be highly regardedBackground in episodic TV, film, advertising, sports broadcast, gaming, or streaming productionFamiliarity with cloud and hybrid media workflows, remote collaboration, and AI-assisted content creationWorking knowledge of MAM, PAM, or workflow orchestration platformsBenchmarking, capacity planning, or workflow optimization for I/O-intensive creative applicationsThe annual pay range for the role is USD $260,000 - $270,000 OTE plus equity. Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year.
