We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on
Senior Systems Engineer with experience working on
complex electro-mechanical systems. This is an exciting onsite contract opportunity for an experienced engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced development environment and enjoys solving challenging technical problems.
This position offers the potential for extension into 2027 based on individual performance and business needs.
Work Schedule: Standard hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility available based on business requirements.
Position Overview
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will apply advanced engineering principles and systems-thinking to the design, development, testing, and optimization of complex products and technologies. You will play a critical role in driving product performance, reliability, and manufacturing readiness while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.
This role requires independent decision-making, strong analytical capabilities, and hands-on engineering expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and evaluate system design concepts for complex engineering projects.
- Participate in design reviews and technical assessments.
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies and validation plans.
- Perform hands-on testing to evaluate system performance against design specifications.
- Conduct reliability testing and analyze system interactions.
- Develop test methods, Design of Experiments (DoE), and data analysis methodologies.
- Analyze digital sensor outputs and interpret performance data.
- Design and build test beds for product evaluation and verification.
- Troubleshoot system and product issues, identify root causes, and recommend engineering solutions.
- Support manufacturing process development and continuous improvement activities.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including protocols, reports, and test summaries.
- Manage the defect lifecycle, including defect collection, documentation, tracking, and communication with development partners.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with risk management and requirements management.
- Proven technical writing skills, including development of protocols, test plans, and engineering reports.
- Demonstrated experience working with complex systems engineering projects.
- Experience developing and executing testing methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Data analysis experience, including the ability to use Python for engineering analysis and test development.
- Experience evaluating sensor data and system performance metrics.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
- Preferred disciplines include:
- Electrical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in systems, product development, testing, or related disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in FDA-regulated or FAA-regulated environments.
- Background in the medical device industry is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting highly regulated product development programs.
- Familiarity with reliability engineering, verification, and validation processes.
