We are working with a well-established and highly respected public accounting firm that is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Professional to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with business owners and individual clients while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the long-term growth of the firm. An ownership track is available for the right individual.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review individual, business, trust, and nonprofit tax returns.
  • Review tax work prepared by junior team members for technical accuracy.
  • Research complex tax issues and provide practical solutions for clients.
  • Develop proactive tax planning strategies for individuals and closely held businesses.
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist with tax resolution matters.
  • Work with client accounting records, making necessary adjustments and corrections.
  • Build strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication.
  • Mentor and train less experienced accounting professionals.
  • Manage multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines.
  • Participate in networking, business development, and community organizations.
  • Deliver educational presentations on tax and business topics as opportunities arise.
  • Maintain a professional presence through networking and social media.

Qualifications:
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required.
  • Minimum five years of recent public accounting experience with a local or regional CPA firm.
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing:
  • Individual returns
  • Business returns
  • Trust returns
  • Strong knowledge of tax planning and tax research.
  • Experience responding to IRS and state tax notices.
  • Excellent client communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
