SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT

 

Venture capital firm is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to assist with tax services. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills in conjunction with strong analytical and technical abilities. Must be detail-oriented, highly accurate, and a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.

The finance group, which provides support to the venture capital firm and the families associated with its managing directors, currently has twenty-two people including the Chief Financial Officer and six directors.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

• Preparing income tax returns for various individual, partnership and fiduciary returns for the family office
• Planning for and preparing quarterly income tax estimates and annual extensions for individual, partnership and fiduciary returns for the family office
• Researching tax related issues
• Responding to tax notices
• Assisting Tax managers with special projects on an as-needed basis

 

Qualifications:

 

• Four-year college degree in accounting, finance, or economics required; CPA a plus
• At a minimum, 4 years of experience preparing individual tax returns; ideal candidates will have some experience working with ultra-high net worth clients and will have prepared investment partnership and fiduciary tax returns
• Proficiency using CCH Axcess or ProSystems fx Tax, CCH Workpaper Manager, and BNA Income Tax Planner a plus
• Competency with Adobe and MS Office products, especially Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, analytical and technical abilities
• Detail-oriented
• Highly motivated; a self-started who can work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment
• Knowledgeable about the venture capital industry and investments a plus
