Job DetailsKey Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation & Review:
Prepare complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
Prepare and review multi-state and consolidated tax returns
Review tax work completed by staff accountants
Ensure returns and related work are accurate, complete, and delivered within established deadlines
Tax Planning & Advisory:
Assist with tax planning and strategy for clients
Identify tax-saving opportunities and potential issues
Help clients understand the implications of federal and state tax matters
Serve as a trusted resource for client questions and tax-related decisions
Tax Research & Analysis:
Research complex federal and state tax issues
Analyze tax regulations and guidance
Apply research findings to client-specific situations
Communicate technical tax conclusions clearly to clients and team members
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage and prioritize multiple client engagements
Train, mentor, and review the work of staff accountants
Provide constructive feedback and support professional development
Assist in maintaining a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Client Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
Communicate effectively regarding project status, expectations, and deadlines
Identify client needs and opportunities to provide additional value
Build trust through responsive, accurate, and proactive service
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 3+ years of tax experience within a public accounting firm
- Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation
- Experience preparing and/or reviewing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
- Experience with multi-state and consolidated returns preferred
- CPA license strongly preferred
- Master's degree in Taxation (MST) is a plus
- Strong tax research and analytical abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience with CCH Axcess Tax, Document, and Engagement is a plus
