Senior Tax Manager - Boutique Public Accounting Firm - Flexible Onsite Schedule - Greater Boston

A highly respected public accounting firm is looking to add a Senior Tax Manager to its growing tax practice. This is an opportunity for an experienced tax professional to take on significant client exposure, lead complex engagements, and play a key role in the development of the firm’s tax team.

The ideal candidate brings strong public accounting experience across both business and individual taxation, enjoys working directly with clients, and is looking for a leadership opportunity with meaningful involvement in tax planning, consulting, and business development.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and review complex federal, state, and multi-state tax engagements for businesses, individuals, and high-net-worth clients
• Oversee tax compliance, planning, projections, and advisory projects across C-Corps, S-Corps, partnerships, fiduciaries, nonprofits, and individuals
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on complex tax matters and planning opportunities
• Manage IRS and state/local audits, inquiries, and tax notices
• Conduct technical tax research and provide well-supported recommendations to clients and internal teams
• Work directly with clients and firm leadership on complex and high-impact tax matters
• Mentor, train, and develop tax professionals while overseeing workflow, deadlines, and deliverables
• Contribute to business development, including prospective client meetings, proposals, and identifying opportunities to expand client relationships
• Help shape tax department processes, technology, and best practices
• Participate in special projects and consulting engagements as opportunities arise

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Taxation preferred
• 10+ years of public accounting tax experience & active CPA license 
• Ability to work effectively with high-net-worth individuals and privately held businesses
• Proven experience leading and developing tax professionals
• Excellent client-facing, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong technical and analytical capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who wants to combine technical tax work, client advisory, team leadership, and business development in a role with meaningful visibility across the firm.
