A well-established public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to provide immediate support during a high-volume tax season. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly technical Senior Tax Manager who enjoys reviewing complex returns, ensuring compliance, and serving as the final quality-control checkpoint before returns are delivered to clients.


The Senior Tax Manager will play a critical role in helping the firm manage workload demands, maintain quality standards, and ensure timely completion of tax engagements. This temporary assignment is expected to run through the upcoming tax deadline.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Manager


As a Senior Tax Manager, you will:



  • Perform final reviews of completed tax returns before filing and client delivery

  • Review complex individual and business tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

  • Verify calculations, disclosures, supporting schedules, and tax treatment

  • Identify technical tax issues and areas requiring correction or additional analysis

  • Communicate review comments and required adjustments to preparers

  • Research federal and state tax matters as needed

  • Ensure returns meet firm quality-control standards

  • Minimize filing errors and compliance risks through detailed review procedures

  • Support tax workflow management and return prioritization during peak periods

  • Collaborate with tax staff to help meet critical filing deadlines

  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor to less experienced preparers when needed


Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Tax Manager



  • CPA strongly preferred

  • Extensive public accounting tax experience

  • Prior experience as a Senior Tax Manager, Tax Manager, or Senior Tax Reviewer

  • Significant experience reviewing complex individual and business tax returns

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance requirements

  • Ability to work independently with minimal training or supervision

  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Experience working within a CPA firm environment

  • Familiarity with professional tax software platforms is a plus
