This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished public accounting tax professional who wants more than another Tax Manager position. The successful candidate will step into significant client and team leadership responsibilities, inherit an established book of business over time, and have the opportunity to progress toward equity partnership within approximately 2–3 years.
What You'll Do
Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates
Lead year-round tax planning, projections, and strategic advisory engagements
Manage complex tax matters, including IRS audits and tax notices
Serve as a trusted advisor and primary relationship manager for key clients
Assume responsibility for an established client portfolio
Lead, mentor, review, and develop tax and accounting professionals
Participate in firm leadership, operational decisions, and long-term growth strategy
Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and develop new business
Work directly with firm leadership as part of a defined succession and partnership plan
What We're Looking For
Active CPA license
Approximately 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience
Significant experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns
Strong technical background across individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate taxation
Experience managing high-net-worth and/or closely held business clients
Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop accounting professionals
Strong tax planning and research capabilities
Excellent client-facing, communication, and relationship-management skills
Leadership mentality with an interest in ultimately becoming an equity partner
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative boutique-firm environment
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $185,000–$225,000, commensurate with experience
Defined 2–3 year partnership track
Opportunity for equity ownership
Opportunity to assume an established book of business
401(k) with employer match
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
Paid time off, sick time, and paid holidays
CPE and professional license renewal expenses covered
Direct involvement in firm leadership and growth strategy
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director who has reached the ceiling at a larger firm and wants a realistic path to ownership, meaningful client relationships, and a long-term seat at the table.
