Senior Tax Manager

Our client, a high-growth technology company, is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to build and lead its tax function during an exciting period of expansion. 

Location:
San Francisco, CA. The position is hybrid, with in-office expectations 3 days/week. 

Job Description: 
This is a highly visible role that will partner closely with Finance, Legal, and external advisors to ensure effective tax compliance, planning, and strategy. The ideal candidate is both hands-on and strategic, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while helping establish scalable processes for future growth. This position follows a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead corporate tax compliance activities, including federal, state, local, and indirect tax matters
  • Oversee tax provision processes and coordinate tax filings with external advisors
  • Support international expansion initiatives by evaluating tax implications of new entities, jurisdictions, and business activities
  • Manage transfer pricing, intercompany matters, and other cross-border tax considerations
  • Coordinate tax audits, inquiries, and responses with regulatory authorities and external advisors
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, and other teams to provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions
  • Develop and improve tax processes, controls, documentation, and reporting capabilities
  • Evaluate opportunities to leverage technology and automation within the tax function

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required
  • 7+ years of progressive tax experience, including public accounting and/or industry experience
  • Strong experience with corporate income tax, tax provision, and indirect tax compliance
  • Familiarity with international tax concepts and multi-jurisdictional operations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and independently in a high-growth environment
