Senior Technical Business Analyst

Location: Richmond, Virginia (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to support a key initiative. This role involves documenting business processes, conducting technical analysis, and supporting product development. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation by leading discovery sessions, defining requirements, and ensuring clear communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Document current-state and future-state business processes for BTAS and related operations.
• Lead discovery sessions with business users, operations teams, technology teams, data partners, and third-party vendors.
• Create cross-functional workflow and swimlane diagrams in Microsoft Visio.
• Develop an understanding of the application ecosystem, architecture, interfaces, and integrations.
• Document source data, data exchanges, connectivity methods, and data lineage.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Support backlog refinement and prioritization using Broadcom Rally (formerly CA Agile Central).
• Facilitate meetings and workshops to resolve questions and close documentation gaps.
• Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelors degree is preferred.

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, Systems Analyst, or a comparable role.
• Proven experience documenting complex business processes and their supporting technical components.
• Experience analyzing application integrations, APIs, file transfers, and system dependencies.
• Experience documenting data lineage, source systems, connectivity, and data ownership.
• Experience working within an Agile delivery model and managing work in Rally.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, including creating cross-functional workflows and swimlane diagrams.
• Experience developing functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data flow documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services, banking, trust operations, accounting systems, asset servicing, or corporate trust.
• Experience supporting a large-scale application modernization or platform transformation initiative.
• Salesforce experience, including familiarity with platform capabilities, objects, and data models.
• MuleSoft experience, including API-led connectivity and integration flows.
• IBM FileNet experience, including content repositories, document lifecycle, and workflow.
• Experience working with internal and external data providers and vendor-managed applications.
• Familiarity with REST and SOAP APIs, SFTP, file-based integrations, SQL, and SharePoint.
