About the job

A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You"re equally comfortable explaining your team"s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager for Google's Child Safety Cross-functional AI, you will be part of a global team that drives solutions for industry-leading responsible AI applications. Your role will sit in the Child Safety Responsible AI testing team, but will be launch agnostic and will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of GenAI safety initiatives focused on preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation. You will work closely with colleagues in teams including DeepMind, Trust and Safety, SafeSearch, Core Engineering and Legal. You will take the lead in standing up new programs and processes, defining metrics and driving cross-company alignments. The aim is to design and develop solutions that will protect Google's products and keep all users, including our most vulnerable users, safe.

At Google we work hard to earn our users' trust every day. Trust & Safety is Google's team of abuse fighting and user trust experts working daily to make the internet a safer place. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google's products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$278,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Combine a strong understanding of AI systems (including prompt engineering, model training, ML, and associated risks) with direct technical competency, including the ability to manage coding tasks and leverage data-driven analysis to solve complex challenges.
  • Apply advanced structured thinking and critical analysis to decompose complex problem spaces, identify emerging safety threats/vulnerabilities, and apply quality engineering mindsets to resolve systemic issues.
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships to drive alignment across product areas. Act as a point of contact for GenAI stakeholders to child safety cross-functional. Synchronize policy updates, engineering cycles, client priorities, and operational capacity.
  • Drive the end-to-end lifecycle of new/updated child safety policies from ideation to deployment. Coordinate prioritization, sequencing, and timelines for required implementation, including classifier updates, evaluation set refreshes, and revised client guidance.

Information collected and processed as part of your Google Careers profile, and any job applications you choose to submit is subject to Google"s Applicant and Candidate Privacy Policy.
