Senior Technical Program Manager – Software Delivery & Systems Integration

Location: Burlington, MA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6-Month W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $90–$105/hour (depending on experience)

About the Opportunity

Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading consumer products and technology organization to identify an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager – Software Delivery & Systems Integration. This individual will drive end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex software programs, serving as the critical link between engineering, program management, quality, and business stakeholders.

This role is ideal for a seasoned program leader who thrives in fast-paced product development environments and has a strong track record of delivering software-enabled consumer products while managing cross-functional teams, technical dependencies, risks, and executive communications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end software delivery across complex product development programs, from planning through launch.
  • Define program requirements, milestones, timelines, and success metrics while maintaining alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive execution across multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring coordination between software, electronics, systems, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Manage program schedules, identify critical dependencies, and proactively mitigate risks that may impact delivery.
  • Navigate evolving priorities, scope changes, and schedule challenges while maintaining focus on quality and key program milestones.
  • Facilitate root-cause analysis of project and team issues, partnering with engineering teams to develop actionable solutions.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise updates for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Foster alignment across teams on priorities, trade-offs, decisions, and execution plans.
  • Establish and maintain effective program governance processes to improve delivery predictability and operational efficiency.
  • Provide regular status reporting, executive-level communications, and program health updates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Program Management, or Software Delivery leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional software development programs.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and product delivery frameworks.
  • Experience with executive-level reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated success driving alignment across engineering, product, quality, and business teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading end-to-end delivery of software-enabled consumer products or connected devices.
  • Background coordinating efforts across software, electronics, systems engineering, and hardware teams.
  • Experience managing complex technical dependencies in a product development environment.
  • Strong risk management, change management, and program governance expertise.
  • Familiarity with appliance, IoT, consumer electronics, or embedded software development environments.
