About VeriSIM Life
VeriSIM Life is a fast-growing, VC-backed startup building the decision infrastructure for drug development. Our BIOiSIM® platform combines mechanistic biosimulation, translational science, and machine learning to help biopharma teams make better decisions across discovery and development.
We work across complex scientific and technical programs spanning computational biology, pharmacology, toxicology, machine learning, software engineering, and drug development.
The Role
This is not a traditional project management role.
You will sit at the intersection of AI/ML, software engineering, biosimulation, translational science, and customer and government programs, helping teams translate complex scientific and technical objectives into executable programs.
You should be comfortable going deep enough technically to understand what teams are building, identify dependencies and risks, challenge assumptions, and drive decisions.
You will work closely with scientific and technical leadership and directly with the VP of Technology and the CEO on some of VeriSIM's most important platform, customer, and government programs.
You will be the company's first TPM hire and will have a leadership role building out the function as the company scales.
Your job is simple to describe but difficult to execute:
Make sure the right technical work gets done, by the right people, in the right sequence, at the quality, budget, and speed required.
What You Will Own
- Own complex, cross-functional technical programs from definition through delivery, across AI/ML, engineering, biosimulation, computational biology, and translational science. Resolve blockers instead of just reporting them.
- Turn scientific, product, and customer objectives into clear workstreams with owners, milestones, dependencies, resources, budgets, and timelines.
- Drive the BIOiSIM platform roadmap with technical and scientific leaders, balancing long-term technology strategy against near-term commercial needs.
- Spot capabilities built for individual programs that should become scalable platform infrastructure.
- Know the technical work well enough to ask sharp questions, see dependencies, and flag decisions that aren't well grounded. You don't need to be the expert in every discipline.
- Collaborate with Business Development to craft and deliver compelling narratives of the value VeriSIM brings to Pharma partners
- Draft SOWs for biopharma and government programs that the team can actually deliver: scope, deliverables, milestones, assumptions, acceptance criteria, and effort and cost estimates built with the scientific and technical leads.
- Own program budgets from proposal through delivery. Track actuals and forecasts against plan with commercial and finance.
- Catch scope changes early and turn them into the right changes to timelines, resources, budgets, and SOWs. That includes proposals, amendments, renewals, and expansions.
- Make sure the team understands what was committed externally, and that technical realities and unresolved decisions reach leadership early enough to act. Customers and government partners should experience VeriSIM as one integrated organization.
- Run program reviews that focus on decisions, risks, and budgets rather than status. Set clear ownership when work crosses teams, and keep improving how VeriSIM scopes, plans, and delivers work without slowing technical teams down.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management, technical product management, engineering program management, or a similarly cross-functional technical leadership role.
- Experience managing complex programs involving software engineering, data, AI/ML, computational science, or other deeply technical teams.
- Demonstrated ability to understand technical architecture, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
- Regularly use LLMs and AI tools in your own work (e.g., drafting SOWs, analyzing program data, building lightweight tools), while knowing when to rely on your own judgment, verify outputs, and think independently
- Experience running complex programs where scientists and software, data, or ML engineers had to deliver together.
- A track record of bringing an at-risk program back on track, not just escalating the risk.
- Experience pushing back on senior technical or executive leaders when scope, timelines, or assumptions didn't hold up.
- Have learned an unfamiliar technical or scientific domain quickly enough to make sound program decisions in it.
- Have set up program processes (planning, reviews, budget tracking) from scratch that were light enough for teams to keep using.
- Experience driving multiple technical workstreams simultaneously from definition through delivery.
- Experience developing project plans, scopes of work, resource estimates, timelines, and budgets.
- Experience managing program budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation against technical deliverables.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in biotech, biopharma, computational biology, drug discovery, scientific software, or healthcare technology.
- Familiarity with machine learning and modern AI development workflows.
- Exposure to pharmacology, computational chemistry, bioinformatics, toxicology, or translational science.
- Experience developing and managing SOWs for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, government, or other external customers.
- Experience supporting technical proposals, contract amendments, and program expansions.
- Experience working with external pharmaceutical or biotechnology customers (e.g., in solution delivery roles).
- Experience in an early or growth stage technology company where roles and priorities evolve quickly.
- Scientific or technical training such as computer science, engineering, computational biology, bioengineering, pharmacology, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Advanced technical or scientific degree is a plus, but not required.
Why VeriSIM
Drug development remains extraordinarily difficult because promising science often fails to translate into successful therapies.
VeriSIM is building technology to change that.
You will work alongside scientists, engineers, and drug developers tackling difficult translational problems and help build the operating infrastructure that allows that technology to scale. You will work with leaders who will invest in your growth.
For someone who loves deep technology, getting difficult things done, and communicating their value, this is an opportunity to have an outsized impact.
