    Description

    WSP is currently recruiting for a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our Overhead Transmission Design team. Candidates may elect to work from any of our Southeast regional offices—located in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, the Carolinas, or Virginia—or choose a remote or hybrid arrangement from a mutually agreed‑upon location. This role offers a flexible work schedule, with both full-time and part-time employment options available.Your ImpactThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, and coordinating the following:Lead the initial project execution layout to ensure an efficient and effective project plan has been establishedManage engineers, drafters, and designers on engineering projects and interface directly with the clientResponsible for creating and maintaining a project schedule and budgetConduct weekly or bi‑weekly project meetings to clearly outline upcoming deliverables and tasks with responsible personnel identifiedCoordinate with clients on project status and support project meetings as necessaryMaintain project workflow and thorough communication across multi‑discipline projects, both internal and external to POWERForecast upcoming project requirements to assist in resource planningFacilitate and adhere to POWER's QA/QC procedure to ensure the correct personnel is performing the required QA/QC reviewParticipate in industry conferences, both internal and external, to improve professional growth while fostering knowledge transfer to colleaguesDevelop Transmission Line design knowledge pertaining to PLS‑CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, steel pole performance loading, material procurement, construction specification, and construction supportProject Manager SupportMaintain project status reportsProvide weekly or bi‑weekly project updates and project forecastingLead and/or support PM by meeting with clients, both in‑person and remotelyDevelop client relationships allowing POWER the opportunity to position ourselves to win future workDepartment Manager SupportSupport resource forecast planning for upcoming and current project loadsParticipate in new hire screening and review processesProvide business improvement methodologies and proceduresDiscuss project and/or department personnel conflicts, performance issues, and collaborate on a suitable approach to constructively provide a successful resolutionContribute to Business Planning and BudgetingWho You AreBachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).Engineer license required (multi‑state preferred).10+ years of relevant post‑education experience in engineering and civil design.The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.At least 10 years of experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines, including route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction bid packages.Candidate must have extensive knowledge in PLS‑CADD.Experience managing projects and leading multi‑disciplined teams.Preferred Education/ExperienceElectric utility industry experience.Distribution design experience.Experience using POLE, TOWER, and FAD Tools software packages.Cost estimating and scheduling.Experience using L‑Pile and Microsoft Projects.BenefitsEmployees are afforded a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career.WSP provides a flexible and agile workplace model while meeting client needs.Legal and Equal Opportunity StatementsWSP USA (and all of its U.S. companies) is an Equal Opportunity Employer Race/Age/Color/Religion/Sex/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/National Origin/Disability or Protected Veteran Status.The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.#J-18808-Ljbffr
