Senior Technical Writer Aircraft Technical Publications (Remote)

We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer Aircraft Technical Publications for a global aerospace company. In this role, you will Develop, edit, and convert aircraft technical manuals and maintenance documentation into SGML/XML/S1000D-compliant formats, ensuring accuracy and compliance with military specifications.

This is a 11-month contract (extensions are likely), 40-hour-per-week (4-day 10-hour shifts per week) Remote role in US.

This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

Responsibilities:

• Research, write, and edit technical content for F-16 aircraft maintenance and operations manuals in compliance with contractual and military specifications.
• Apply applicable style guides, formatting standards, and publication specifications to ensure consistency across deliverables.
• Review and validate technical content for clarity, accuracy, and compliance prior to publication release.
• Support publication updates in response to customer feedback, operational findings, and aircraft configuration changes.
• Maintain documentation schedules and ensure timely delivery of assigned technical publications.
• Utilize content management systems and publishing tools to prepare and deliver electronic and/or printed publications.
• Ensure all documentation meets quality assurance requirements and passes internal and external audits.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• 4+ years of previous experience in aircraft systems
• 2+ years of experience with either Standard Group Markup Language (SGML) or Extensible Markup Language (XML)
• 2+ years of technical writing experience
• Bachelor's Degree

Desired Skills:

• Prior military aircraft maintenance experience preferred
• Experience with any military aircraft platform(s) that uses XML, S1000D, and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) in a composite environment
• Experience using Epic Editor, Isodraw, Arbor Text Tool Suite, XML, S1000D or similar applications

Compensation: $55/hr - $67.50/hr
