Senior Technical Writer (TS/SCI with Polygraph)

Yellow Duck Technologies is seeking a cleared Senior Technical Writer to develop and maintain comprehensive, user-friendly documentation for the unified AMS/FIPE solution. This position creates documentation tailored for users with varying technical knowledge levels, ensuring operators can effectively utilize system capabilities. The writer works closely with development teams, SMEs, and users to produce accurate, accessible documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain user guides, installation instructions, and integration guides.
• Develop training materials with clear examples and illustrations.
• Write and update release notes for each deployment.
• Create troubleshooting documentation and FAQs.
• Develop in-program tutorials for complex concepts.
• Coordinate documentation reviews with independent reviewers.
• Maintain documentation in Government-approved repositories.
• Apply appropriate classification and distribution markings.
• Support knowledge transfer and transition activities.
• Ensure documentation meets 508 compliance requirements.

Requirements:

• Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, or related field. An additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years of technical writing experience.
• Experience documenting complex software systems.
• Proficiency with documentation tools (Confluence, Markdown, etc.).
• Strong understanding of software development processes.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Experience writing documentation in classified environments.
• Knowledge of style guides and documentation standards.
