Short Description:
Senior Technical Writer
 Hybrid position - Must be willing and able to report on-site to DC offices 1x every 2 week period. 

Complete Description:

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Liaise with department heads and end users to identify business procedures and establish documentation needs for hardware and software.
 Analyze IT project requirements to determine type of documents needed
·         Collaborate with systems and development staff to collect and interpret technical information. 
·         Write and edit technical and end-user documents, including procedures, processes, functional descriptions, release documents, system specifications, reports, manuals, training, presentations, end-user communication messages and other program deliverables such as editing policy directives, strategic plans, and standard operating procedure
·         - Track the development and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and semiannual documents and reports;
·         Perform technical edits and support quality reviews.
Develop quality standards, graphics, format, and style for internal and external IT documents.
·         Create customer service content, user guides, in-depth documentation on product features, FAQ reference materials
·         Contribute to the organization's messaging strategy, crafting content guides for new products and features
·         Understand new features, learn how they work, and document them in crisp, easy-to-follow language
·         Improve existing documentation based on customer feedback.
·         Interview subject matter experts and analyze complex information to understand the details of the platforms and technical information to be conveyed.
·         Learn complex concepts and communicate information easily and clearly to internal employees and the end user community.
·         Use visual models and tools to communicate workflows, communications, relations, and system operations.
·         Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
 Education:
·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field
·         ITIL & SaFe Agile Certifications preferred
 
 Qualifications:
·         5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer
·         5+ years of experience with documentation tools Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
·         Excellent written communication and grammatical skills. Strong attention to detail is critical.
·         Highly skilled in MS Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio) to conduct all job responsibilities.
·         3+ Years of hands-on experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro. Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint.
·         Demonstrable ability to grasp technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
·         3+ Years of experience using content publishing tools to write, format, manage, and publish technical content on the web
·         Demonstrable experience in technical communication or instructional design
Skills:
·         Experience as a Technical Writer. Required 5 Years
·         Experience using content publishing tools to write, format, manage, and publish technical content on the web. Required 3 Years
·         Hands-on experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro. Required 3 Years
·         Demonstrated proficiency in MS Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and Visio) to conduct all job responsibilities. Required
·         Demonstrable ability to grasp technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures. Required
·         Excellent written communication and grammatical skills. Required

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
