The Senior Technician, General Facilities Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facility equipment and fixtures. This role involves diagnosing issues, overseeing junior associates, managing work orders, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The position requires expertise in multiple crafts, effective coordination with contractors and suppliers, and a commitment to quality and operational excellence. The Senior Technician supports continuous improvement efforts while upholding company policies and fostering a safe, efficient work environment.

The Facilities Services team ensures efficient store operations by maintaining essential building systems, including HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and equipment. This team excels in problem-solving, preventive maintenance, and delivering high-quality repairs to support daily functions. Members respond promptly to challenges while upholding safety standards and regulatory compliance. The team promotes accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth by providing necessary resources and support. What you''ll do:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities equipment and fixtures.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair equipment, documenting wear and recommending repairs or replacements.
  • Conduct major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Oversee junior associates, provide onsite training, and ensure work meets quality, safety, and code standards.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and expenses.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA and EPA regulations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What you''ll bring:

  • Proven experience in performing preventive maintenance and equipment repair to ensure facility safety and functionality.
  • Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair facilities equipment using blueprints, repair manuals, and appropriate tools.
  • Skilled in managing maintenance schedules, work orders, parts inventory, and contractor oversight.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and train junior associates while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to build partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to company policies and ethical standards.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years'' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 7 years'' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.

Valid Driver''s License.

Eligible for a Commercial Driver''s License (CDL).

1 year's experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
