ASRC Federal Systems Solutions, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, requires a highly motivated Senior Test Data Programmer to support the ASTROS Contract. We are looking for someone with the ability to manage test data information from the test stand to the customer. We support the testing of incredible propulsion systems at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and we are looking for the best people to be a part of this research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support test operations with sequence programming and system operation
  • Diagnose and resolve software defects, system instabilities, and control logic issues within legacy codebases
  • Support critical software updates required to address known bugs and operational limitations
  • Collaborate with AFRL engineers, technicians, and government stakeholders to implement system improvements
  • Analyze system performance and recommend enhancements to improve reliability and maintainability
  • Create documentation packages of operations and newly created software.
  • Develop legacy replacement software including, GUI front ends utilizing C# .NET WPF as well as future back-end replacement of I/O control.
  • Support integration of control systems with facility hardware, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
  • Participate in system testing, validation, and operational readiness activities
  • Ensure proper configuration management and version control of all software changes using Git
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors when additional technical support or clarification is required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ Years of Experience
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and sustain legacy software systems with limited documentation
  • Experience working in large scale test facility environments (vacuum systems, environmental simulation, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and hardware/software integration
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system architecture diagrams
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming experience in C#/WPF
  • Direct experience with PCON (Aerojet DDAS/TCON, Pacific Instruments) systems or comparable real-time industrial control systems (LabView/Allen-Bradley)
  • Experience addressing software issues related to aging or unsupported vendor systems
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems and real-time monitoring tools
  • Experience with configuration management and version control (e.g., Git)
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements (RMF, STIG compliance)
  • Experience supporting contract transitions or knowledge transfer efforts

Work Environment

  • Combination of office, control room, and industrial test facility settings
  • Work may involve high-risk/high-value test environments requiring strict adherence to safety protocols
  • Occasional off-hours or extended support during test campaigns

  • This is a 100% on-site position
  • Emphasis on system sustainment, risk mitigation, and operational continuity
  • Candidate must be comfortable operating in a transition environment where long-term ownership of the system may evolve

Clearance:

Must be able to obtain a DOD secret clearance.
