Senior Test Engineer
Location: Chicago (Hybrid/Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract

About the Role
DTI is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join a high-performing technology team supporting secure, scalable, and reliable enterprise solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong automation testing expertise, hands-on experience with Core Java, multithreading, UNIX, and CI/CD environments. This role will contribute to system-wide testing initiatives and automated framework development within a fast-paced Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute system-wide and integration test strategies.
  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Cucumber and Java-based tools.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
  • Create, maintain, and review test artifacts including test cases, test plans, and execution reports.
  • Contribute to debugging and enhancement of automated testing frameworks.
  • Participate in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes using Jenkins and Ansible.
  • Validate application scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Ensure quality standards and best practices are followed throughout the SDLC.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Software Testing / QA Automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Core Java and Multithreading.
  • Experience with automation testing tools and frameworks, especially Cucumber.
  • Strong UNIX/Linux command-line knowledge and industry experience.
  • Experience working in CI/CD environments using Jenkins and Ansible.
  • Experience with integration and system-wide testing.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to write application modules and unit tests with minimal guidance.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of test automation best practices and framework design.
  • Experience with scalable enterprise-level applications.
