Summary:
The Senior Test Technician is responsible for assembling, configuring, testing, validating, troubleshooting, and repairing Windows-based PCs, servers, and related hardware used in wafer-based Dual Beam systems. The role supports product quality, manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, workplace safety, and collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, image, test, and validate Windows-based PCs and computer systems.
- Install and configure Windows OS, drivers, firmware, applications, and product-specific software.
- Perform PC imaging, re-imaging, cloning, system recovery, and software deployment.
- Install, upgrade, and replace PC hardware such as RAM, SSDs/HDDs, graphics cards, and network adapters.
- Set up, configure, test, and validate servers and server-related hardware.
- Perform virus and malware scans and verify system security requirements.
- Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, driver, network, application, and software issues.
- Diagnose system failures and repair or replace defective components.
- Perform functional testing of PCs and servers.
- Create, burn, copy, and verify software installation media.
- Collect and document test results, system configurations, failures, and corrective actions.
- Follow configuration control processes and ensure correct hardware/software revisions.
- Escalate complex issues and support root-cause investigations.
- Maintain test equipment, tools, software libraries, and work areas.
- Develop and improve work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and SOPs.
- Train and mentor other technicians on PC configuration and troubleshooting.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, quality, and continuous improvement activities.
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience configuring, testing, repairing, or supporting PCs, servers, or similar systems.
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware and Windows operating systems.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting Windows OS, drivers, applications, and hardware.
- Experience with PC imaging, cloning, deployment, backup, and recovery.
- Experience upgrading and troubleshooting RAM, SSDs/HDDs, graphics cards, network adapters, and peripherals.
- Knowledge of BIOS/UEFI, firmware, drivers, and hardware diagnostics.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, network adapters, connectivity, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with virus scanning, malware detection, and basic computer security.
- Ability to systematically troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
- Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and configuration specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and technical teams.
- Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Associate or 2-year technical degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Server configuration, manufacturing/test environment, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S experience preferred.
